Terms of Service
WordMend Clarity, published by IQ Source.
Effective date: 27 August 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and IQ Source for the use of WordMend Clarity. By installing or using the app you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use the app.
Important: WordMend is not a medical device
Read this section before anything else.
WordMend Clarity is a language practice and self-tracking tool. It is not a medical device, and it is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, mitigate or prevent any disease or condition.
- Nothing in the app is medical advice, a clinical assessment or a diagnosis.
- The cognitive scores, difficulty levels, mastery levels, streaks and charts the app produces are practice metrics. They are generated by the app for your own use and have not been clinically validated. Do not read them as a measure of your cognitive health.
- The symptom tracker is a diary. It records what you type. It does not interpret your symptoms and it does not tell you whether they are normal or serious.
- The app is not a substitute for care from a qualified health professional. If you are worried about memory, word finding, concentration or any other symptom, talk to a clinician. Never delay or ignore professional medical advice because of something you saw in this app.
- The app is not for emergencies. If you think you have a medical emergency, call your local emergency number.
You use WordMend at your own discretion and you remain responsible for your own health decisions.
Who may use the app
You must be 18 or older. By using the app you confirm that you are, and that you are allowed to enter this agreement where you live.
Your account
An account is optional. The app works offline with no account at all; an account exists so that your practice history can sync between your devices.
Sign-in is passwordless: we send a one-time code to your email address. Anyone with access to that mailbox can sign in as you, so keep it secure. An account is for one person. Tell us at support@iqsource.ai if you think someone else is using your account.
Free tier, trial and subscriptions
The app has a free tier. It includes two exercises in full, Word Recall Mastery and Rapid Naming, with no limit on how long you practice them. Word-Finding Emergency and Name Recall are included as well, capped at three lookups a day and three people stored. The remaining exercises, together with weekly reports, review scheduling and adaptive difficulty, are part of a paid subscription, and the free tier shows the last seven days of your symptom and progress history. A paid subscription may start with a 14-day free trial. The trial is run by the App Store, not by us, and it is offered once per Apple ID: reinstalling the app does not give you another one. When the trial ends it converts automatically into the paid subscription and your store account is charged, unless you cancel beforehand. You cancel a trial the same way you cancel a subscription, in your App Store account settings, and canceling before the trial ends means you are not charged.
Paid access is sold as an auto-renewing subscription, in monthly and yearly plans. The price of each plan, in your local currency, is shown on the upgrade screen in the app and again on the store’s confirmation sheet before you are charged.
By buying a subscription you agree that:
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID when you confirm the purchase.
- The subscription renews automatically for the same period, at the same price, unless you cancel it. A monthly plan renews every month; a yearly plan renews every year.
- Your account is charged for the renewal within 24 hours before the current period ends.
- The subscription continues to renew until you cancel it. Canceling is your job, not ours; we cannot cancel it for you.
- Unused time in a free trial is forfeited when you buy a subscription.
- We may change subscription prices. A price change never applies to a period you have already paid for, and the store will notify you and ask for your agreement where its rules require it.
Canceling
Cancel through the store account you bought the subscription with:
- On iPhone, iPad or Mac: open Settings, tap your name, tap Subscriptions, choose WordMend and cancel.
Cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, otherwise the next period is charged. After canceling you keep paid access until the end of the period you already paid for. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
Refunds
Purchases are made through Apple, and refunds are handled by Apple under its own policies. We cannot issue, approve or reverse a refund for a purchase made in the App Store. To request one, use reportaproblem.apple.com. Where the law of your country gives you a withdrawal or refund right, that right applies and nothing here limits it.
Acceptable use
Use the app for your own personal practice. Do not:
- copy, resell, rent, sublicense or redistribute the app or its vocabulary database;
- reverse engineer, decompile or extract the bundled database, other than where the law says you may;
- use automated tools to scrape content, create accounts or generate practice activity;
- attempt to reach data belonging to another user, probe our systems for weaknesses, or interfere with the service;
- use the app for anything unlawful, or in a clinical or research setting as a measurement instrument;
- upload content that is illegal or infringes someone else’s rights.
We can suspend or close an account that breaks these rules.
Your content
You keep ownership of what you write in the app, including symptom notes and goals. You give us the limited permission we need to store it, sync it between your devices and show it back to you. We do not use it for anything else. How we handle it is described in our privacy policy.
Our content
The app, its design, its exercises and its vocabulary database belong to IQ Source or its licensors. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app on devices you own or control, for as long as you comply with these terms. Nothing else is granted.
Availability and changes
We may change, suspend or discontinue features, and we may stop offering the app. We try to keep it working, but we do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation, and we do not promise that a specific feature will exist forever. Sync depends on services we do not control and can be delayed or unavailable.
Keep your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose. The app can export a report of your progress.
Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent the law allows, the app is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, accuracy and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will improve your memory, your word finding or any other aspect of your cognition.
Some jurisdictions do not allow these exclusions, in which case they do not apply to you.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, IQ Source is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, for lost data, or for any health outcome or decision you make in reliance on the app. Our total liability arising out of or relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event that gave rise to the claim.
Nothing here excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Termination
You may stop using the app at any time by deleting it, and you may ask us to delete your account as described in the privacy policy. We may terminate or suspend your access if you break these terms or if we stop offering the app. The sections on content ownership, disclaimers, liability and governing law survive termination.
App Store terms
If you obtained the app from the Apple App Store, the following also applies. This agreement is between you and IQ Source only, not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support; support requests go to support@iqsource.ai. If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may tell Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price; to the extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple is not responsible for product liability claims, claims that the app fails to meet a legal requirement, or claims under consumer protection law, and it is not responsible for handling any third-party claim that the app infringes intellectual property rights. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of this agreement and may enforce it against you. You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a United States embargo or designated as terrorist supporting, and that you are not on any United States list of prohibited or restricted parties.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The effective date at the top shows the current version. If a change is material we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the new terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Costa Rica, without regard to its conflict of law rules, and the courts of Costa Rica have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of your country of residence and may bring proceedings there.
