The Challenge
Intellisense Systems operates Quantimet, a weather observation system serving a global network of field station sensors. The existing frontend needed significant improvements in data visualization, command management, analytics dashboards, data export, and interactive charts. The complexity lies in supporting two device types (IWOS and MWS) with different data sets and visualization requirements, all in real-time.
The Solution
We executed 5-phase incremental frontend enhancements for the Quantimet weather observation system, including advanced data visualization, device management, analytics dashboards, data export capabilities, and interactive charting. Each phase was delivered and validated independently, supporting both IWOS and MWS device types.
Key Features
- Advanced data visualization for sensors
- Device management interface
- Analytics dashboards with real-time metrics
- Data export tools
- Interactive charts with Chart.js
- Google Maps integration for sensor locations
- Dual support for IWOS and MWS devices
Results
The 5 development phases significantly improved the Quantimet operator experience. The global sensor network is now managed with modern, responsive interfaces supporting both device types with specialized visualizations.
