Product catalog, wildlife directory, and bilingual experience connecting cacao, biodiversity, and tradition

The Challenge

Café Historia 1492 is a Costa Rican brand of artisanal chocolates and single-origin coffee celebrating over 2,000 years of cacao tradition. With more than 30 chocolate varieties, chocolate-covered fruits, and coffee from Finca Santa Elena, the brand needed a digital presence that conveyed the premium quality of their products and their commitment to sustainability. The physical catalog couldn't communicate flavor notes, cacao percentages, or the story behind each tablet. They also wanted to differentiate themselves by linking each product to Costa Rican biodiversity — something no competitor in the market had done.

The Solution

We built a complete website with Astro 5 that fuses product catalog, storytelling, and conservation. The catalog presents each product with professional photography, cacao percentages, flavor profiles, and tasting notes. The main innovation is the wildlife directory: over 25 Costa Rican species linked to the chocolates, with detailed habitat information, characteristics, and fun facts. The site is fully bilingual with GSAP animations that create an immersive browsing experience.
